The Green Bay City Council once again discusses how to handle a lawsuit over a proposed trash to energy plant.
Oneida Seven Generations Corporation filed the suit last month after the council reversed its decision and pulled a conditional use permit a year-and-a-half after they granted it, citing environmental concerns.
The council held a closed meeting on the pending lawsuit Tuesday night. Mayor Jim Schmitt couldn't tell us much on how the city decided to handle it for legal reasons. But he says the council is just as split over the issue as many in the community. He says the suit is now in the hands of the city attorney.
"The judge is going to make the decison on who's right and who's not. Hopefully something could be mediated. Hopefully we're going to run this thing through the court system," Mayor Schmitt said.
There was some disappointment from the dozens of people who showed up for the issue. The council did not open the floor for public comment, since it is a legal issue.
