The Winneconne School District is asking taxpayers to help pay millions in renovations to its elementary school.
In a public meeting Monday night, adminstrators explained why they want voters to approve a $4.7 million referendum next month. If it passes, it would help the school buy a new furnace and repair its roof. The district wants to avoid sending students to other buildings
"If it was a situation where we could not fix our elementary furnace at all, we'd actually have to move some of our elementary kids to the middle school and middle and high school would have to share some opportunities,” winneconne district administrator peggy larson said.
The disctrict will hold two more informational meetings before the election on November 6th.
