GREEN BAY, WI - They say there is no such thing as a free lunch, but that is not necessarily true in Green Bay.
The city is offering free summer meals to children 18 and under starting Wednesday. The meals will be offered Monday through Friday for ten weeks straight at 36 different parks throughout Green Bay.
Katie Anderson, playground leader says, "A lot of the kids come and get their lunch here and it's something that's really important to help them stay in the community, stay in the parks where it's a great, safe environment - and they get a really healthy meal."
The free meals are made possible through the Summer Food Program funded by the Federal Government.
