Suamico-- Dozens of Gov. Scott Walker's supporters gathered at Gus's Guns Sunday to celebrate the governor's victory in the recall election.
The event was sponsored, in part, by the National Rifle Association. "We decided we wanted to organize a small party to show our appreciation for Scott Walker and what he's all done for our rights in the state," said Bronson Smith.
The state's democrats, meanwhile, spent the weekend in Appleton at the annual convention. A spokesperson for the party says Democrats have their own reason to celebrate. "We're proud of hat we did in the recall, we fell short of beating Scott Walker but we did take the majority in the senate," said Grame Zielinski.
The celebration, even for Walker's supporters, will be short lived as both parties turn attention toward November's election.
