GREEN BAY, WI - The 9th annual farmers' market on Broadway kicked off Wednesday afternoon to huge crowds.
Organizers say people flocked in as soon as they opened the gates. An early growing season allowed farmers to have fresh produce ready to sell. The community-building atmosphere was also encouraging for market goers.
Christopher Naumann, executive director of On Broadway, Inc. says, "It's a festival of the community as much as it's a farmers' market. You can get your fresh produce here. You can get homemade products here. Goods and services you can't find anywhere else in the region."
The farmers' market runs every Wednesday from 3 to 8 pm on Broadway Street in downtown Green Bay.
