There are a lot of businesses that help athletes train for a race like The Bellin Run. But for one Green Bay organization their reason behind the help is much different.
'My Team Triumph' is an athletic mentoring program that helps disabled athletes participate in endurance events. " We have a team environment with specialized racing equipment which captains who have disabilities ride in this equipment." My Team Triumph's Christian Jensen explains. "And able-bodied athletes push them so that their captain can experience the thrill and emotion and character-building opportunities of an endurance event.
Bellin Run Participant Mary Cox says the organization is a life saver. "I guess I've always had a competitive edge and wanted to be in competition with other people and My Team Triumph has given me that opportunity."
Christian adds the positive attitude that team triumph has gives everyone involved a new outlook on life.
You can watch Christian, Mary and the rest of the Bellin Runners on Saturday, June 9th on MyNEW32. Coverage begins at 7:00am.
