ONEIDA - A 16-year-old girl is behind bars for allegedly stabbing another teen early Tuesday morning.
It happened at a home on Commissioner Street in Oneida. Police received the call just before 6:00 Tuesday morning. They say eight adults and four juveniles were inside the home at the time of the stabbing. Police also say they have reason to believe alcohol was involved.
"With any party that's going on at 6:00 in the morning, there's bound to be some alcohol involved. Folks just don't get along that time of morning after they've been drinking all night. It was a disagreement between the group, and unfortunately, one person did get stabbed," said Chief Rich Van Boxtel with the Oneida Police Department.
The 16-year-old suspect remains in custody. She is facing a felony charge for recklessly endangering safety.
Police say the 18-year-old victim received surgery for her injuries. She is expected to make a full recovery.
