GREEN BAY - Oh, what a difference three hours make.
The world view on Packers Planet did a near-180 degree turn between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. CT Saturday night as the Green Bay Packers played well enough to get a two-score victory, 19-7, in their preseason tussle with the St. Louis Rams.
The game game after a week filled with even more injuries for a team that sometimes seemed like it was living in a hospital ward instead of a dormitory for training camp...
...a team without a defined kicker...
...a team with a quarterback having commentary on him from two different former receivers...
...but a quarterback who seems to have let that kind of outside talk bounce off him.
Things were not-so-hunky-dory before 7:00 p.m. rolled around Saturday.
Then it all changed against the Rams.
Eddie Lacy showed the promise which could make him just what the Packers' offense needs in 2013.
Jermichael Finley showed that with Lacy and the running game clicking, he can become a deep threat again.
And a Packers defensive lineman who spent time recently in prison is turning his game, and his life, in a new direction - even turning Rams possessions in opposite directions with interceptions.
Now...to take advantage of what Mike McCarthy earnestly and genuinely calls "pawsitives" in his Pittsburgh accent and perform well in the "dress rehearsal" game against the Seattle Seahawks Friday night.
