A wise and very successful head football coach once encouraged his team to always “get up and punch back,” especially after every loss.
No truer words could be spoken, and this is definitely the mantra for the Packers and their faithful this week.
Just because you get knocked down, doesn’t mean you’re out for the count.
While losses are all part of the season each year, it’s how you get back up and punch back that really matters the most, not only for you personally but for the health of your teammates.
Jonathan Franklin, who committed the fumble that was returned for the Cincinnati Bengals' game-winning touchdown, has adopted this mantra.
Look up, Get up but never give up!!! Life is about the bounce back and today's the first day..God lead me I can't do it alone #prayedup— Johnathan Franklin (@JFrank2308) September 23, 2013
We didn't get it done in Cincy today. Appreciate all the support we had in the stadium. We will keep working!— AJ Hawk (@OfficialAJHawk) September 23, 2013
Tough Loss today.. Not the way we wanted to go into the bye. Learn and Move On.— Randall Cobb (@rcobb18) September 23, 2013
Ugly Loss! But Im Fine & Will Be Back Strong As Ever! # GOPACKGO— Jermichael Finley (@JermichaelF88) September 22, 2013
This season the Packers’ bye week is a little bit earlier than normal, but that’s ok, we’ll take it.
Expect veterans and rookies alike to recharge their batteries, heal their physical and mental wounds and come back stronger than ever next week.
Let’s face it: both the Packers and Packers Nation are fighters.
If there’s one thing that we know how to do – and do it well - it’s to get up and proverbially punch back.
