Packers fans, don't hate Golden Tate

Green Bay Packers fans have always been known for their class, welcoming warmth and beer-and-cheese Midwest hospitality.
It's been part of the love affair the city of Green Bay, state of Wisconsin and its favorite sports team have had for generations.
But it seems to be undergoing a very severe test this week, with the Lambeau Field appearance of the Seattle Seahawks team which robbed the Packers of a victory through the method of, yes...
...the Fail Mary.
Golden Tate, the man who didn't catch the final pass of former Badger Russell Wilson that night - but was ruled to have caught it by replacement ref Lance Easley, is getting some severe flack on Twitter.
One example of what he's faced:
(Yeah, we did the online version of bleeping.)
If Golden Tate is reading this, let me explain, this is not representative of Packers Planet.
Anger? Sure. Consider how Packers fans have responded to Greg Jennings' summer of barbs.
But I don't even believe that type of anger should lead to hatred. Satisfaction with two Packers wins over the Vikings? Sure. But not hatred.
Still in this case, Golden Tate hasn't gone the route of Jennings in how he's treated Packers fans throughout the last 11 months.
All he did was try to do his job of catching the football on one important play, even if Easley didn't rule correctly on if he did it.
That's what Tate gets paid to do.
I never advocate hate in general, but if feelings are even close to that, Packers fans' scores needs to be settled with Easley.
Sadly, Packers fans will never get the chance to even the score with Easley, unless he volunteers for some sort of dunk tank for charity and thousands of Packers fans line up to get him drenched.
The fan in me has no problem disliking Golden Tate intensely for three hours in a game that really counts, but only because he's trying to stop the Packers from winning.
If the Packers and Seahawks play in January - very possible - the fan in me hopes Casey Hayward or Tramon Williams blankets him so closely that he finds a couple zeroes in his stat sheet.
Packers fans, show the class which helps define the team's culture.
Don't hate Golden Tate. Just root for the Packers to dominate.
