Randy Travis joins reunited "One Tree Hill" alums Hilarie Burton and Tyler Hilton as one of the stars of "Christmas on the Bayou," holiday-themed love story set to premiere Saturday, Dec. 14, at 8:00 PM ET/PT on Lifetime.
The country legend plays local store owner Mr. Greenhall in the film, which also stars veteran actress Markie Post, who plays the mother of Burton's character, a successful New York marketing executive who discovers her workaholic ways are taking a toll on her eight-year-old son, Zac and decides to spend Christmas with him and her mother, Lilly in her hometown on the bayou. When Caleb, played by Hilton, attempts to rekindle a childhood romance and convince her to move back home, Katherine is torn between the bright lights of the big city and the quiet, gentler rhythms of her Southern roots. That's when Papa Noel, played by award-winning TV icon Ed Asner, steps in to help orchestrate a Christmas miracle.
Randy Travis, who has appeared in numerous TV series, made-for-TV movies and big-screen films, continues to recover from a stroke suffered in July of this year, after heart failure caused by a viral infection. After being discharged from Baylor Heart Hospital, the 54-year-old entertainer was admitted to a physical therapy facility. In September, he released the critically acclaimed album, "Influence Vol. 1: The Man I Am."
