Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' bus performance for Grammys

It was just another day for BX6 New York City commuters until two hooded men stepped onto the bus, one toting a black boombox.

"The surprised bus riders are at first dubious as Macklemore and Ryan Lewis pull out their boombox, in fear that their commute will soon be interrupted by noisy performers," reports the Huffington Post. "By the time they understand what's happening, everyone is on their feet enjoying the moment."

Time-stamped as Nov. 15, rapper-producer Macklemore is viewed through a bus camera, then from a clearer angle, capturing a range of passenger emotions that begin with confusion and annoyance, and give way to enjoyment. Claps, smiles, and plenty of iPhones on "record" accompany "Can't Hold Us," all while a paper towel roll is thrown around the air like floating streamers.

The most genuine reaction comes towards the end of the clip when Macklemore and Lewis dance off the stairs to their stop, as a young female with earbuds waiting to enter the bus notices their faces.

The "Music Unleashes Us" ad campaign features various artists in promotion of the 56th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, Jan. 26 live from the Los Angeles Staples Center from 8-11:30 p.m. (ET/PT.)

"The campaign premise taps into the insight that human beings have natural, sometimes uncontrollable, visceral reactions to music. Laughing, crying, screaming, or dancing -- 'Music Unleashes Us,'" explains the Grammy's website. "It will tap our toes and shake our hips for us, whether we want to or not," said Bob Rayburn, TBWA/Chiat/Day Creative Director.

Macklemore and Lewis are nominated for seven Grammy awards including Album of the Year.
