Toddler Jackson Blitch, 4, is the "happiest kid in the world" until he hears a sad song.
His father, Mark Blitch, grabbed his phone during a car ride to Jackson's grandparents house after the tyke asked him to turn back to the station playing the heartbreaking song Blitch had just skipped over, "Say Something" by A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera.
In an interview with Today, Blitch said, "If someone in a movie he is watching is in peril — 'The Lion King' or 'The Croods' — he loses it. As parents, my wife and I don't want to traumatize our son, obviously, but we feel like it's our responsibility to assure him that it's okay to get emotional about things that affect us. It has allowed some great teaching moments for us.”
Blitch posted the mobile video on YouTube in hopes that the artists would see his son's emotional tie to their song. "I never expected this to happen," said Blitch. The viral video is nearing one million views.
