More than 15,000 pounds of bacon attracted an estimated 14,000 visitors to the Iowa State Fairgrounds last weekend.

The Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival featured 72 bacon-inspired dishes, including bacon cheddar croissant, bacon sushi, Elvis Bacon Muffin, Bacon Mongolian Chicken and even a bacon cheesecake.

This year's theme was "Viva Las Bacon! What happens at Baconfest..."

Iowa Governor Terry Branstad, along with delegates from the Iowa Bacon Board and Iowa Pork Producers Association, kicked off the festival with Iowa's annual pig pardoning.

The giant celebration of bacon also featured a bacon-eating contest, the crowning of the 2013 Bacon Queen, and the bacon lecture series.

But that's not all, two couples also got married at the annual event. Tricia Snider and Tom Watson were the first to wed, followed by Craig Rouch and April Davila.

Check out the wedding photos.

The festival is currently in its seventh year with each year drawing an even bigger crowd than the last.
