Heartbreaking news for Trace Adkins and family. Music Row reports that the country star's father, Aaron, has died. No further details are available at this time. Trace had recently left a rehab facility, where he was being treated after relapsing in his battle with alcoholism, to be at his ailing father's side.
The elder Adkins, a longtime mill worker, was photographed in June 2012 with Trace and his newborn grandson, Jackson.
Trace entered rehab after a confrontation last month with an impersonator on a country music cruise. According to a statement, the singer-songwriter, who also briefly left rehab to purchase a guitar, had taken his first drink in more than a decade.
