The European leg of Taylor Swift's tour not only had fans seeing Red, but security seeing red too. During Saturday night's show at London's O2 arena, a fan rushed the stage during Taylor's encore. (Watch the video above.)
According to the Mirror, during the singer's show-closing performance of "We Are Never, Ever Getting Back Together," a man, "leapt onto the stage ... ran up a flight of steps towards the bemused singer and appeared to push a note into her hand before running back towards the crowd. Burly security men managed to grab the intruder as he headed back to his seat and led him away."
An eyewitness, concertgoer Andrew Simpson, said "I couldn't believe what I was seeing," adding that members of the audience thought the man was a dancer "until he tripped running up the stairs."
The Mirror quotes a backstage source saying that the man had come "all the way from Iceland" to hand the superstar entertainer a note with his email address on it."
A spokesman for the O2 said, "The safety of our fans, and anyone performing on our stage is of paramount importance to us. However, with regards to the stage invader during Taylor Swift's concert here on Saturday night it is now a police matter."
Saturday was the first of Taylor's five-night stand at the O2.
