Winter Storm Warning For Springfield And Portions Of The Ozarks

Snow Then Sleet And Freezing Drizzle Tonight
More Weather Information Here

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Springfield and the counties of Greene, Polk, Hickory, Dallas, Laclede, Webster and Wright until noon Sunday.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for all of the Ozarks for tonight and Sunday morning.

Snow will continue to lightly fall in the Springfield area this evening, perhaps adding another inch or so. Heavier totals of an additional 2-3" can be expected in areas east and northeast of Springfield tonight.

Tonight and early Sunday, the air warms just enough to change most of the precipitation to sleet and freezing rain and then eventually rain.

Sunday looks cool with rain showers and some lingering winter precipitation far north.

By Monday and Tuesday, upper level winds will switch to the southwest, encouraging warmer temperatures.  In fact, Tuesday will see highs in the  fifties.  Rain showers are possible on Tuesday.

More arctic air arrives in the Ozarks late next week.
