Some people call them groupies, but it's not musicians that they are chasing. For these folks, it's all about the chicks. The kind with feathers.
Super fans were in Asheville, N.C., Thursday morning for the grand opening of a new Chick-fil-A.
More than a dozen tents were set up in the parking lot and many of the eager diners traveled from across country for the grand opening of the latest Chick-fil-A.
It's all in the pursuit of free chicken. The first 100 people at any Chick-fil-A restaurant get one free sandwich meal per week. That is 52 sandwiches, 52 orders of fries and 52 beverages a year.
For college student Ian Dovan, who has gone to at least a dozen grand openings, that is a solid deal. Dovan drove to North Carolina from Covenant College in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Michelle Watkins, according to WLOS-TV Channel 13, has attended 17 grand openings. She told the television station that she thought it was something fun to do, but her family thinks she is crazy.
