The body of a 22-year-old man from Fremont, Ohio, who disappeared from country music artist Jason Aldean's concert at Progressive Field on Friday was tragically found at a landfill on Tuesday. Cory Barron was reported missing on July 19.
My sincere condolences go out to Cory Barron's family and friends. My heart is heavy for you all and you are in my thoughts and prayers.— Jason_Aldean (@Jason_Aldean) July 23, 2014
"Cleveland police Commander James Chura told FOX 8 ... that investigators are looking into the possibility that Barron may have fallen down a trash chute and into a dumpster in the basement of Progressive Field that’s five or six stories below the section in which Barron was sitting for the concert," reports FOX 8 Cleveland. "The contents of the dumpster were later taken to the landfill where his body was found."
Since he was last seen at their field, the Cleveland Indians released a message on behalf of their team: "The Cleveland Indians are saddened by the news of Cory Barron’s untimely death and wish to extend their sincere condolences to the Barron family and friends. We are cooperating with the authorities in their investigation and do not have additional comment at this time,” further reports FOX 8 Cleveland.
Barron's identification and concert stub was found with his body. The Lorain County Coroner's Officer will determine the official cause of death.
