Springfield Howard Johnson's Locks Doors For Good
Many events from high school reunions to VisionCon have been held at the Howard Johnson's on South Glenstone in Springfield, but Sunday was the last day for business.
Employees will be looking for new jobs now that owner Jim D. Morris has sold the property says the new owners have big plans which include a 60, 000 square foot retail facility..
For many years the place was known as the Clairon.
Morris has owned the property twice and he says it breaks his heart to know the building will be torn down and replaced with a new structure.
The inn and convention center was also home to Classic Sports Bar.
Its not been said when the demolition will take place.
