Fallen Soldier Laid To Rest In Springfield
People in Springfield came out to show their support for Sergeant Joseph Peters.
"Any body that had a motorcycle and they had a flag attached to it, they were there. And I'd say there were probably 225 just in motorcycles. And there were motorcycles that came from Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and all around; motorcycles came from every where. When something like this happens to one of our soldiers we pay our respects."
Richard Harrington, his wife, and several others showed their respect by hanging a flag over James River Freeway as the procession passed. Sergeant Peters was killed in Afghanistan and laid to rest today at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery.
He will receive full military honors.
