Nixa Early Childhood Education Program Expands After Increased Funding
CREATED Sep. 22, 2013
Nixa Public Schools is pleased to announce the expansion of our early childhood/preschool programs through funding from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). We know that the first few years of a child’s life are the most formative; therefore, early childhood education is critical. Nixa Public Schools recognizes this facility will open more learning opportunities for the young children in our community.
DESE received funds from the federal government’s push for the expansion of early childhood education, which will allow Nixa to expand the program with funding for construction and the early childhood special education staff coming from the state.
The expansion of the program will include a new 23,000 sq. ft. facility near the current early childhood program building on south Main Street.
Nixa will continue using the current early childhood facility to expand our preschool program offerings beginning with the 2014-15 school year.
For those who are interested in having their name on the “interest list” for a spot in our early childhood programs, information will be coming out in October on how you can submit your information to the district.
The district will continue to update information about the expansion at www.nixaearlychildhood.net.
