Man Sentenced To 12 Years For Deadly Drugged Driving Crash In Springfield

CREATED Oct. 22, 2013

A judge in Greene County has sentenced a man to 12 years behind bars in a drugged driving crash that killed two people in Springfield last year.

Prosecutors say Sean Masten had meth in his system when his speeding pickup blew a stop sign at Scenic and Elm and plowed into another vehicle.

The driver, Kathy Newman, died at the scene. A passenger in Masten's truck, Joshua Sportsman, was also killed.

Masten pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and leaving the scene.
