Prosecutors Seek Death Penalty For Hailey Owens' Accused Killer

Craig Michael Wood could face the death penalty if he's convicted in the Hailey Owens murder case.
During Friday morning's arraingment, prosecutors announced they'd seek the death penalty against Wood. At the same court appearance, Wood entered a not guilty plea to charges of kidnapping, rape, and murder.
The former coach and teacher's aid is accused of abducting 10-year-old Hailey Owens less than a block from her home in Springfield in February.
Owens' body was found in garbage bags in the basement of Wood's home.
