The summer tourist season has drawn to a close, but gas prices have started rising again after being a few cents lower last month.

In Springfield, the average price for unleaded is $3.55 a gallon.

According to the latest Lundberg Survey the national average is $3.58 gallon.

Drivers in Tucson, Arizona the price is $3.27 a gallon, while President Obama's hometown of Chicago has the highest price for unleaded at $3.92.

The survey also says what the U.S. will do about Syria along with America's uncertain monetary policy could cause gas prices to fluctuate in the coming weeks.

A year ago at this same time gas was a quarter lower.
