Bolivar School District Receives $39,500 Grant For Local Food

By Shannon Cay. CREATED Aug 17, 2014

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has awarded $39,500 to the Bolivar School District.

This money, through the USDA Farm to School program, will go toward putting local food in cafeteria meals in Bolivar, Fair Play, and Humansville schools.

The district suggests this grant will reach 4,000 kids. The money will also allow for schools to plant gardens, teach cooking classes and fund trips to local farms.
