Bitter Cold Air Coming In
Weather Map Early On Monday
The well-advertised cold front arrives Monday evening. Until it gets here, enjoy another mild day.
Today, a mild flow of air out of the south will result in high temperatures in the lower sixties. Only a few clouds will be around in the afternoon.
But by early evening, the wind will take a nasty turn to the north and the cold air will start to rush in!
Precipitation will probably fall behind the front for a brief time overnight. It will mostly take the form of light rain showers but there is a small window for a snow flurry.
I don't see accumuation at all with any flurries which might develop. All of this would be before morning rush hour on Tuesday.
The real story waking up on Tuesday will be the cold. Actual temperatures will be in the upper twenties which means roughly a 35 degree change in temperature when compared to expected highs today!
The wind chill on Tuesday morning will be between 16 and 22 degrees! Lots of unhappy people I suspect.
The coldest morning will be Wednesday with widespread upper teens. Note: your outdoor hoses will likely not make it if left outside!
The rest of the week features a warming trend. Showers are possible by Friday and again on Sunday.
