Springfield City council has postponed a vote on whether to require a prescription for pseudoephedrine.
Council was to have decided the question tonight, but a city spokeswoman says newer members of council feel they have not been adequately informed on the issue.
The drug is the main ingredient used to make meth.
City council meets at historic city hall on Boonville Avenue at 6:30 p.m.
