Update: Three Firefighters Hurt Battling Niangua Fire
Two firefighters and the fire chief from Niangua were hurt battling a fire in Niangua on Saturday evening.
One of the firefighters is in critical condition with second degree burns at a hospital in Springfield.
He was pulled from the fire by the chief, who suffered burns to his airway. He is in stable condition and will be released from the hospital today.
The third firefighter was treated and released.
Firefighters from Marshfield also responded.
According to a spokeswoman from the Springfield fire department, all calls are being handled by them at the request of the Niangua chief.
