Many folks in Republic, Battlefield, Nixa, Ozark and Springfield are still without electricity this morning after severe thunderstorms moved through overnight.
A spokeswoman with Ozark Electric Cooperative says as of 8:45 a.m., about 1,600 weather related outages are impacting customers in mainly Greene and Christian Counties.
The outage count is down from about 5,000 plus early this morning, and crews have been working around the clock to get electricity restored.
One of the problems, though, is damage to the system, and that means it may take several more hours to get everyone back online.
