With money from a voter approved bond issue, the Springfield school board has approved a $227 million operating budget for the coming school year.
With the extra money, the board will be able to hire more teachers and support staff for the classroom.
The board also got updates on cuts in federal funding for low income and special needs students that were expected and accounted for in the budget that begins on July 1st.
