24th Annual Price Cutter Charity Championship
SPRINGFIELD (MO) - For the 24 (PCCC) presented by Dr Pepper at Highland Springs Country Club from August 2 Web.com Tour tournaments with this 24 year distinction. Price Cutter Supermarkets returns as the tournament’s title sponsor for the eleventh straight year and Dr Pepper will serve as the presenting sponsor.
The event is the 19 features 72 holes of tournament play with a $675,000 purse. This year’s champion will take home $121,500. Web.com, one of the most successful website development companies in the world, is in its first full year of sponsorship of this tour.
The 25-stop Web.com Tour will culminate with a four tournament play off ending with the Web.com Tour Championship at TPC Sawgrass – Dye’s Valley Course in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Here’s how it works…one hundred "The Ultimate" sponsorships will be sold each for $1,000 each, with each sponsor receiving two tickets to the "The Ultimate" pre-tournament banquet, which will be held at the Tower Club on Friday, August 2nd.
Just for participating, each sponsor will also receive a gift certificate to a local restaurant or shopping venue. All sponsors have the chance to participate in "The Ultimate" Raffle. This event will be held at the University Plaza and Convention Center. • The Women’s Pro Am will take on a new feel this year as Oxford HealthCare has agreed to be the title sponsor. The pro-am was previously sponsored and presented by BCFO and O & S Trucking. They event will be called the Oxford HealthCare Women’s Pro Am. Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks will be a benefactor of the tournament. It is conducting a FREE "Small Business Forum" in conjunction with the Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper.
The goal of each forum is to help small businesses learn how to be successful on the internet. The discussion will focus on elements of a great website, how to determine if your website is working, how to increase site traffic, and how to market effectively on Google, Facebook and Twitter, among other things. It will be led by a senior member of the Web.com staff, who will leave plenty of time for questions and answers. Previous forums have had up to 250 attendees and been very well received. At Seymour High School, David was as All-State Golfer 3 years and was State Champion in 2000. In basketball he was named All-Ozark, All-State, ALL-District, ALL-Conference, 3 years, and is still in the record books for field goals, free throws, 3 pointers, and just under 2200 points for his career. He was one of the top recruits from Missouri in 2000 for both basketball and golf. David played golf and basketball at Southwest Baptist University, where he was a four year starter for both sports, and had several MIAA player of the week awards, freshman of the year award, and most points scored in one half.
On the links David has medaled in over 40 events and finished 2 business where he has found great success. All proceeds from the sweepstakes program benefit the participating children’s charities. • In cooperation with the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks and JMARK Business Solutions, Sunday August 11 designated as “Pink on the Greens” Day. This will be a day dedicated to breast cancer awareness. All breast cancer survivors and those currently undergoing treatment will be admitted free. Watch for an array of pink as tournament volunteers, caddies, officials and even golfers will be adorned in articles of pink clothing.

News & Notes Marlin Network Charitable Fund Charity Sweepstakes Program The purpose of the Marlin Network Charitable Fund Charity Sweepstakes Program is to allow participating charities the opportunity to raise additional funds for their organization. The program is also designed to help increase the tournament’s overall attendance, while also generating an added excitement to the tournament. As in years past, each charity has the opportunity to receive 100 % of every ticket that they sell.
For example, if a charity sells 100 Tickets, at $25 each, then that charity will receive an additional check for $2,500 from the tournament at the Celebration of Sharing on December 3, 2013. The Charity Sweepstakes will work as follows: Six thousand (6,000) tickets will be sold for $25 each between now and tournament week. The purchaser will receive a special four-day tournament badge to the Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper ($40.00 value) and a chance to win one of over 600 prizes.
Each day (Thursday, August 8 culminate with the Championship Grand Prize drawings on Sunday, August 11 will be given away on the 18 representative must be present to win the cash and car. Saturday Night Filled With Fun, Food and Games The popular Family Fun Night event returns and will be held at the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday, August 10 The event will feature entertainment for the entire family, including free rides and games in a carnival atmosphere. Also on Saturday, The Missouri Golf Association Long Drive Contest will take place at 6:00 p.m. at the Highland Springs Country Club driving range and is open to golfers of all ages. Ladies…Don’t Miss Your Opportunity To Talk With A Pro Through the Advertising Plus Women’s Golf Clinic, ladies will have the opportunity to get great lessons from the best. The clinic will take place at Highland Springs Country Club on Monday, August 5 in the Highland Springs Club House. The golf clinic will run from 10:30 a.m. to noon, with a luncheon and fashion show to follow from 12:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Highland Springs Club House.
The clinic is geared toward ladies of all ages who are interested in learning more about the game of golf from several area professionals. The ticket price is $30.00, or tables of 10 are available for $250. Admission includes the golf instruction, the luncheon and fashion show. At this event, ladies can register for a chance to win one of four playing spots in the Oxford HealthCare.
