Springfield Man Took Bleeding Toddler To Methadone Clinic Instead Of ER

CREATED May. 12, 2013

Police say Jeremiah Springstead was within walking distance of Cox South Hospital after he caused a crash last week.

He didn't head to the ER though, even though his one-year-old son was bleeding from the head. When someone passing by offered to take them, he asked for a ride to a drug clinic instead.

The Springfield News-Leader reports they took him there but then took the boy to the hospital.

He had to have five staples in his head. Springstead faces a felony charge of endangering the welfare of a child.
