Panthers Fourth In First NCAA-II Midwest Region Baseball Rankings

Drury's baseball Panthers are No. 4 in th first NCAA-II official Midwest Region rankings of the season released on Wednesday.
Coach Scott Nasby's Panthers (28-12) trail only Ashland (27-12), Southern Indiana (24-15) and Lewis (24-7) in the rankings, used to determine the six teams who will qualify for the Midwest Regional as part of the NCAA-II post-season tournament next month.
Saint Joseph's is fifth, followed by Wayne State, Quincy and Indianapolis among the eight teams ranked this week.
The Panthers are 5-5 against the teams ranked in the region, having gone 0-2 against Southern Indiana, 2-0 against Saint Joseph's, 2-2 against Quincy and 1-1 against Indianapolis this spring.
Drury is back in action this weekend at Meador Park, taking on Rockhurst in a four-game set with a 3:30 p.m. start on Saturday - when the Panthers observe their annual "Saving Second Base" promotion for breast cancer awareness - and at noon on Sunday, when the team will recognize its 14 seniors in pre-game festivities.
