From A Press Release
A Nixa Police Cyber Crimes Unit investigation has led to the arrest of a Powersite, Mo., man for molesting two young girls. Taney County deputies arrested Amos Moses Neal, 24, on April 16 after he admitted to touching the two girls for sexual gratification. The two victims (a 6-year-old and a 5-year-old) are related to Neal. On April 17, the Taney County Prosecutor’s Office charged Neal for two counts of Child Molestation in the First Degree.
The arrest was the result of a child pornography investigation that began earlier this month and culminated with the execution of a search warrant by detectives with the Taney County Sheriff’s Department and Nixa Police Department on April 16. During an interview with detectives, Neal admitted to being involved with child pornography for the past eight years. Neal estimated there were hundreds of child pornography files on his computer. Investigators confirmed numerous images of child sexual abuse when they previewed Neal’s computer. Neal then admitted to touching the two young girls in inappropriate places.
This case was investigated by members of the Tri-Lakes Internet Crimes Task Force from the Nixa Police Department, the Taney County Sheriff’s Department and by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Office of Homeland Security Investigations.
Amos is currently being held at the Taney County Sheriff’s Department on a $100,000 bond. The Nixa Police Department also plans to submit the child pornography case to the US Attorney’s Office for consideration of federal charges.
