Club Soccer Being Formed In Joplin
Joplin Parks and Recreation will host a Press Conference at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, April 5, at the Joplin Athletic Complex soccer fields to announce the launch of Club Soccer in Joplin. The Joplin Demize Soccer Club (JDSC) will offer a competitive environment for athletes seeking a challenge and utilizing their training and skills with a licensed professional coaching staff.
Chris Hanlon, the founder and Director of Coaching for the Total Demize Soccer Club in Springfield, Mo., that has more than 20 youth teams of all ages, brings his experience and coaching resources to Joplin in an effort to grow the sport locally. The youth club JDSC will be offered for youth soccer athletes from ages 7 to 18 for both boys and girls.
In addition to the league, Hanlon also plans to hold weekly footskills academies and soccer camps for area athletes. The Joplin Athletic Complex will be the home field and facility for the JDSC.
More details about the start of this new league, and its impact to Joplin area soccer players, will be provided at the Press Conference.
