From A Press Release
An investigation by the Nixa Police Department’s Cyber Crimes Unit and the Tri-Lakes Internet Crimes Task Force has led to multiple charges filed on a Lampe, Mo., man.
Jeffery D. Manley, 36, has been charged in Stone County for statutory rape in the second degree, statutory sodomy in the second degree, endangering the welfare of a child in the second degree, sexual misconduct involving a child, and felony drug possession for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl for the past two years.
The investigation was initiated in January of 2013 when a detective with the Nixa Police Department’s Cyber Crimes Unit discovered child pornography being shared from Manley’s residence in Lampe. On February 26, 2013, members of the Stone County Sheriff’s Department and the Nixa Police Department executed a search warrant at Manley’s residence where they found evidence of the above crimes. In addition to sharing child pornography via the Internet, Manley had also created his own.
During an interview, Manley admitted to his involvement with child pornography as well as his illegal relationship with the 16-year-old girl. Manley stated that he and the girl intended on getting married when she became “legal.”
Manley is currently out on bond after posting a $100,000 cash or surety bond in Stone County.
The Nixa Police Department has referred the child pornography case to the US Attorney’s Office for consideration of federal charges.
