Bond, Levy For Springfield Schools On Ballot

Bond, Levy For Springfield Schools On Ballot

By Nancy Simpson. CREATED Apr 1, 2013

The polls open across the state at six in the morning. On the ballot in Springfield, voters will find two money issues concerning schools.

One is a no-tax increase bond that would pay for wi-fi, new elementary classrooms and upgrades to Glendale and Kickapoo High Schools.

School Board President, Doctor Tom Prater, says the other issue on the ballot is a 20-cent levy that would pay for teachers, utilities and fuel. He says both need to pass to be affective.

He says classrooms are busting at the seams.

The levy would be spread over two years.
