1/4 Cent Sales Tax For Roads On Springfield Ballot
Springfield voters are being asked to extend a 1/4-cent sales tax for capital improvements for another three years.
Assistant public works director Kirk Juranas says the money would be used to take care of everything from fixing potholes and sidewalks, to paving roads, to putting up signs.
Some of the money would also be used to upgrade the intersection of Campbell and Primrose, widen Republic Road, and widen Mt.Vernon near the West Bypass.
The capital improvement sales tax would raise about $25.5 million dollars over the next three years.
