Authorities in Greene and Lawrence Counties are looking for a man who lead deputies on a high speed chase that began near Willard and ended near Halltown.

Greene County Sheriff's Captain David Johnson tells KTTS News  a deputy was following up on reports about a stolen pickup on Farm Road 94 when the vehicle took off. The chase round around Willard, Ash Grove and Bois D'Arc before entering Lawrence County.

The pickup crashed in a wooded area behind a house. The driver ran but deputies were able to arrest a woman passenger and take custody of a six month old child.

Deputies were assisted by the Highway Patrol, state Conservation agents and Miller Police in an area near Lawrence County 2015 and Highway 266.

A door to door search ended with nightfall but authorities are continuing patrols. Homeowners are being reminded to lock their doors and report anything that appears to be suspicious.
