CREATED Feb. 10, 2013

Springfield City Council will hear discussion on the proposed Walmart Neighborhood market at Grand and Campbell Monday night.

The issue has become a hot-button topic about whether another Walmart is needed in that part of Springfield.

Groups have protested before Council as well as took to on-line outlets like Facebook and Change.org to gather support.

Planning and Zoning initially voted in favor of not recommending the project to City Council.

However, after the proposal was presented again with changes on how traffic would be addressed, Planning and Zoning is now recommending approval.
