Old Man Winter To Make Another Pass Through The Ozarks
The Springfield National Weather Service says there's an 80-percent chance of rain Saturday with temperatures dropping in the afternoon to the mid-30s.
Wind gusts will be up to 25 miles per hour.
Forecaster Mike Griffin tells KTTS News a winter weather advisory will run from 6pm Saturday to 6am Sunday, and during the evening and overnight hours we can expect rain to start to freeze along with some sleet, freezing drizzle and snow after midnight.
Griffin says bridges and overpasses will be the first to ice over, so people need to be vert careful if they just have to drive somewhere Saturday night.
Significant travel problems are expected with this cold system.
Griffin says from Springfield, up I-44 to Fort Leonard Wood and over toward Houston we could see a half inch of snow and sleet, with one tenth to two tenths of an inch of ice.
The overnight low Saturday will be 25, with a high of 30 Sunday and the low around 12 degrees Sunday night.
