Missouri Veterans Legislation
(MissouriNet) - A spokesman for the Missouri Association of Veterans Organizations says its legislative wish list is a short one this year.
Chairman Rich Heigert says getting funding secured in 2012 for veterans homes was a big success.
He says this year the want to see programs that help veterans with addiction issues rather than tossing them in jail.
Another item is getting road signs put up so vets can know where to seek medical care at small community-based VA clinics so they don't have to travel to Mount Vernon,Columbia, St. Louis, Kansas City or Poplar Bluff to get their benefits.
Branson is one place in the Ozarks with a VA clinic.
