JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - A Missouri House member who missed the start of the 2013 legislative session now has taken office.
Republican Keith Frederick, of Rolla, took the oath of office on Thursday, one day after his colleagues.
The second-term lawmaker missed the start of the legislative session Wednesday because he was saying goodbye to his daughter when she left for a yearlong mission trip.
Frederick was sworn in by Speaker Tim Jones.
Missouri lawmakers have wrapped up their work week and will return to the state Capitol on Monday.
