Carrie Underwood returns to the big screen with NBC Sports
Carrie Underwood will be hitting the big screen once again since her debut in a minor role in the 2011 biopic drama, "Soul Surfer." However, this time she will be starring as herself.
During the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour in Los Angeles, NBC Sports announced that a two and a half minute video featuring Carrie alongside NFL stars will be shown in movie theaters nationwide during the National CineMedia's "FirstLook" pre-show program.
Carrie's clip debuts in theaters on July 25 on more than 19,000 screens in major theaters, including the AMC and Regal Entertainment Group chains.
The clip will offer viewers a behind-the-scenes glimpse of this year's Sunday Night Football show opener with Carrie performing "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night," the opening theme song for NBC's "Sunday Night Football," details a press announcement. Watch above for the 2013 intro which also stars Carrie.
"Waiting All Day for Sunday Night" is a catchy tune with tailored lyrics set to the melody of Joan Jett's 1988 single, "I Hate Myself for Loving You."
The six-time Grammy Award-winner and multi-platinum recording artist re-joins television's No. 1 rated program, "Sunday Night Football," for her second season with NBC Sports.
