Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Do you know a remarkable teen? Silver State Schools Credit Union wants to recognize them. They're holding a monthly contest for our teens and the first winner is definitely deserving.
Brittany Holmes-Sutton graduates from high school this June. But first, she'll be getting her associates degree this May. She also volunteers with several organizations, a passion that began when she worked with kids one summer.
"Teaching them to want to be active in their community and I thought I could make an impact. I think it helped too because I could really see the impact I was having on them and I knew I could do other stuff and it's going to help people and that's awesome."
Somehow, this 17-year-old finds the time to work for the Water Reclamation District. She's the whole package, a deserving teen of the month according to Barbara King with Silver State Schools Credit Union.
"We are sponsoring a teen of the month for the next 12 months. We want to celebrate those outstanding teens that give back to the community."
Brittany plans to keep on giving as a family and marriage counselor. She started taking college classes when she was just 15.
If you know of a deserving teen just like Brittany, we invite you to nominate them. Besides being featured on Action News, each winner will receive $100. Click here to nominate a teen.
