Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Teachers often have to dig into their own pockets for school supplies, but not on Thursday.
For the eighth year, MGM Resort loaded a ballroom at The Mirage with supplies and gave Clark County school teachers free reign.
MGM employees donated more than one-million individual items to the drive this year.
The company sent out the invites to more than 18,000 local teachers to stock up their classrooms.
"Some of the kids that come to school without school supplies are now going to have what they need to start the school year off right," said Stephanie Pittman, elementary school teacher.
Thursday's event was held in conjunction with MGM Resorts' annual Educator Appreciation Day.
