Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- In about 2 weeks, thousands upon of kids will be on the streets for the start of school.
Everyone is working to keep them safe.
An event held at Cambridge Recreation Center was put on Friday to express the need for child safety going into the new school year.
Agencies from Clark County School District police, Nevada Highway Patrol and even UMC Trauma joined together to get across the message of safety.
Experts were on-site handing out free child safety seats, bike helmets and even school supplies.
Authorities were really pushing pedestrian safety since so many students will be walking to and from school.
