Boulder City Hospital Foundation names featured artist for Art in the Park

Boulder City local Connie Burnett-Ferraro has been named Featured Artist for the Boulder City Hospital Foundation's 52nd annual Art in the Park event. 

This event being one of the largest outdoor art festivals in the Southwest, will take place on Oct. 4-5. It will be held in the historic downtown area and will have free parking. 

Burrent-Ferraro was introduced to art at a young age by her father who painted every moment of his spare time. 

After she graduated high school, she moved to New York City and became a Broadway and TV dancer while taking drawing and painting classes at the famous Art Student's League on 57th Street. She started showing off her paintings at the Salmagundi Club, New York City; Greenwich Village Art Show, New York City; and the Ardavin Art Gallery, Atlanta, GA. 

While in New York, should would paint in Central Park and walk across the park to the Metropolitan Art Museum and savor her favorite artists such as Van Gogh and the Impressionist. 

After 32 years of living in the Big Apple, she moved to Boulder City and was asked to paint her first mural which she did and then continued getting commissions for murals around town. She is recognized for her visual depiction of Boulder City's history from Hoover Dam to present.
