Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Many of you are watching the Winter Olympics but there is one young pair that is probably watching it a little closer.
That is because they are also ice dancers and, according to their coach, are headed for greatness.
15-year-old Alex and 14-year-old Joy began skating together just a few months ago.
Joy's family made the tough decision to move here from Ohio just so that she could skate with Alex.
As for Alex, he is a former hockey player who was plucked from the game by a ice dancing coach.
Coach Nancy says she asked him if he was interested and he wasn't sure. But then he tried it and was amazing right out of the gate.
Coach Nancy says that the teen skaters are the first team from Las Vegas who will make it big.
Alex says that ice dancing is fun and he has a great time doing it. He also says that his partner Joy is awesome.
Alex is a student at Rancho High School and is studying aviation.
The two practice at the Fiesta Rancho SoBe Ice Arena five or six days a week.
